Dr. Francisco Alvarez

Francisco Alvarez, DVM, is the owner of Lone Star Equine Sports Medicine, where he combines a deep-rooted passion for horses with advanced medical expertise. He attended Texas A&M University, earning both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees, and went on to complete a specialized internship at a referral sports medicine hospital in Texas. Driven by a lifelong commitment to helping equine athletes achieve peak performance, Dr. Alvarez approaches each case with a personalized and comprehensive plan. Dr. Alvarez is committed to staying on the cutting edge of his field, regularly attending ISELP classes and ultrasound labs to continually improve his skills. This dedication to ongoing learning ensures his patients receive the most advanced care available. Outside of work, he’s an active part of the equine community. You’ll often find him spending time with his family or at horse shows, cheering on his daughter Alyssa as she competes. For Dr. Alvarez, it’s all about making a difference in the lives of horses and the people who love them.

Dr. Brittany Campbell

Dr. Brittany Campbell received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. Following veterinary school, she completed a one-year internship at Texas Equine Hospital in Bryan, Texas.  The quick pace and high volume of a surgical referral hospital afforded Dr. Campbell many opportunities to work up lamenesses, see emergencies and assist with surgery.  Dr.Campbell has grown up immersed in the equine world through different disciplines and working as an equine technician throughout high school and undergraduate school at Texas A&M. Dr. Campbell was a high school teacher and tennis coach before attending veterinary school. She has a young son who loves hunting and fishing so family time is always a priority.   Dr. Campbell has worked closely with Texas Equine Veterinary Association, first as a student representative and now as the Student Outreach Director, and shares a similar passion with other TEVA members to encourage and support the next generation of equine veterinarians.  She is heavily involved with mentorship and helping to organize educational opportunities for veterinary students.  The reach of TEVA even extends to undergraduate and high school age students through educational opportunities offered at veterinary continuing education events and outreach programs held here at Lone Star Equine Sports Medicine.
